Doug Gottlieb: NFL Needs to Extend Myles Garrett's Suspension For Lying

Listen to Doug Gottlieb explain why he thinks the NFL should tack on even more games to Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett’s indefinite suspension that will cost him the final six games of the regular season plus playoffs at the very least.

Garrett was facing a massive uphill battle at his appeal meeting with the league on Wednesday, considering his helmet smash onto the uncovered skull of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph came during a nationally telecasted game on Monday Night Football, and turned into the biggest story in America.

Sources say Garrett told league officials that Rudolph had used a racial slur towards him moments before the unprecedented melee that turned into one of the worst moments in NFL history.

After Garrett’s comments went viral, the NFL quickly tried to quell the hysteria by releasing a statement saying there was no evidence backing up Garrett’s accusations.

Rudolph’s attorney even came out and admonished Garrett, calling his claims a flat-out lie.

Gottlieb says the actions by Garrett are dangerous, considering Rudolph could be branded as a racist the rest of his career, while Garrett simply accepts that his appeal has failed. Gottlieb says Garrett’s comments are increasingly cowardly when you consider there would really be no way for Rudolph to prove he DIDN’T actually say what Garrett alleges, given it would simply become Garrett's word vs. Rudolph's word.

Check out the video above as Gottlieb says the NFL needs to add more games to Garrett’s suspension if no other evidence arises corroborating Garrett’s accusations.
