2x World Series Champion, San Francisco Giants P Justin Verlander joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. He weighs in on the Automated Ball-Strike system and how he thinks it can be most advantageously implemented. He says he would be a different pitcher if he came up in the current era. And he says reaching 300 wins is definitely on his mind but he’s not going to make a fool of himself chasing it.
Dan Patrick: “How important is 300 wins to you? You’re at 262?”
Justin Verlander: “Yeah, yeah. Look, I mean I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t important. You know, I see pretty clearly that you know, unless something changes, that I’ll probably be the last to have a chance to do it, so it’s something that is off in the distance. I’m not saying the only reason I’m playing is to get to 300. I still feel good. I still feel like I can be successful, quite successful. I don’t want to go out there and make of fool of myself just to try to reach that goal.”
